Most of CHCD's current work is being done in collaboration with others:
Common Cents (current). CHCD is partnering with other organizations to bring the public’s voice to the table for developing sustainable coverage.
Public deliberation on comparative effectiveness research (CER) (2010-13). CHCD is currently working with the American Institutes on Research on implementing a project for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) titled Community Forum, to seek a societal perspective on some key issues related to CER.
Groups Matter (2005-current). CHCD conducts CHAT annually with the Assembly and Executive Fellows program; with Leadership Sacramento; and with other local, state and national groups interested in engaging their constituents in an interactive, highly-stimulating program.
Assist other states in using CHAT (2005-current). CHCD has worked with Departments of Insurance and other state leaders in Oklahoma, Ohio, North Dakota and Montana to help them design and implement CHAT projects with their constituents.
Previous collaborations:
End-of-life guidelines for California's nursing homes (1997-2000). Developed and led a statewide task force to create advance care planning guidelines for 1,500 skilled nursing facilities.
A statewide coalition to improve end-of-life care (1998-2006). Led a multi-organizational group to develop the statewide Coalition for Compassionate Care of California and helped direct the organization in its early years.
